  • First, choose a standard business card size: 90mm x 55mm. 90mm x 50mm is also popular.
  • Limit yourself to two typefaces. A typeface, or font, can set the tone for your business card. Avoid using more than two typefaces.
  • Using the right font size. For the contact information should no less then 9pt, otherwise can be hard for people to read.
  • Incorporate your brand colours and logo. One way to incorporate these elements into your business card is to use your logo as an attention-grabbing centrepiece with brand-matching colours used both for the text, as well as any design elements.
  • Stick to a simple colour palette. Avoiding using clashing combinations or too many different colours.
  • Keep it simple. Don’t overload your business card with information and words. If more room is required, use the reverse of the card.
  • A business card can be laminated, and/or have round corners.
  • Consider additional embellishments: foiling, die cutting, embossing.
  • Supply file in PDF format.
